I'm so excited

Well, the weekend is here, I'm off to a crop tomorrow, and then leave Wednesday for a scrapbook retreat in Alabama. I am so excited. My biggest problem is that I've having to decide what to do at the crop/retreat. I don't want to have to carry too much, so I'm trying to decide what layouts to do, what paper to use and then what embellishments to use. Of course I will have my laptop to digi scrap in case I finish all of my paper scrapping.

Here are some the things I've done recently.

This one is of Xandra my youngest grandaughter. It was for a speed scrap at STS and I really like the way it turned out.

Here is one of me, my sister, and a good friend of ours. When we were in school, we used to get together all the time, going to see the Tidewater Tides play, hanging out, or just going to each others house. Kim came over to visit while she and her hubby were on vacation. It was great getting together with them and getting reacquainted with Kim.

Sisterhood Challenge

Sisterhood of Scrap had a challenge this morning, so I decided to do a layout during my lunch break today. The challenge was to do a layout with food in it. I like, food, who takes pictures of food, then I remember that we learned about what animals eat at Goose Creek and sampled all kinds of fruits, so I did my layout about the fruit we sampled.

Also, last night we had a Speed Scrap over at Stuff to Scrap, and even though I was an hour late (I thought it was at 9pm, so I was at Bo'jangles when it started!) I was still able to get it completed. The pictures are of my sister and her husband with one of their grandchildren. Mom and I stopped by on our way home from Alabama (I know Missouri is out of the way when you are headed to North Caroline, but.....) While we were there, Josh's school had their Fall Festival, so we all went to it. The kids had a good time, and I got some pretty good pictures.

Page Map Challenge and another

In the page map blog, Becky Fleck is holding a challenge. I don't usually see these in time to get in on them, but this one I did. It ends tonight, but I was able to begin this layout earlier this week. I had to wait until today to get the picture off my parent's computer. This is actually the second layout I did, the first one wasn't quite what I was looking for. I'm still tweeting that one.

Anyway, here is the layout I came up with us. Of course the picture is of Jesse during a 4th of July picnic at Mom & Dad's house. She was eating BBQ ribs for the first time and decided that she loves them! (My mom makes the best homemade BBQ sauce!)

Credits: Sketch by Becky Fleck, Digital Kit by Laurie's Scrap called Summer Garden. (The word Fun and the dots around the circles are mine, and I recolored the stitching around the picture.)

I also did this layout yesterday. It uses the Allstate slogan, You're in Good Hands. It was for the Motto/Slogan challenge at Stuff to Scrap. The pictures are of my parents with half of their grandchildren/great grandchildren. I'm going to finish it off as a 2 page spread with the other half of the kids.

Look what I did this morning!

We had the speed scrap on STS this morning and I was lucky enough to be at home to do this. Here is the layout I did. I love the way it turned out.

Digital Kit called I Scream You Scream by Flower Scraps (it just seemed appropriate!)

They are also having another Speed Scrap tomorrow. Hope you can join us. It's a great way of getting a layout done quickly. Here's the flyer.

Speed Scrap Saturday morning.

There is Speed Scrap Saturday morning in the Stuff To Scrap Forum. If you have never done one, it is so much fun. They give you 7 instructions in a hour (1 every 10 minutes) and you do your layout according to the instructions. If you are new to STS, you need to log in first and sign up for both the forum and the gallery. It will be so worth it.
This Speed Scrap is being hosted by The Scrappy Kat and to help get everyone out of bed on a Saturday, the participation prize will be a full-size kit! Blueberry Latte if full of all kinds of stuff to tantalize your taste buds. I love this kit and can't wait to get it.

I'm on a roll, hope it last a while.

Well, I got off early today thinking I had a lot to do in order to be ready for church tonight. What I needed to accomplish was done quickly, so I decided I would do some scrapbooking while I was waiting. Here is what I did.

The sketch is by Stacey Lokovic. The digital kit I used is called Sundance and is on sale now at Stuff to Scrap for $2.00. Here is the preview of the kit. I love it, there is so much it can be used for. It's by Every Everafter Moment Design.

Challenges!

I have been killing two birds with one stone lately. I'm using my Sketchapalooza class to do some challenges on Stuff to Scrap (STS). Works out well. Here are some that I have done.

This is my sister's family. I am going to use this for the title page of their section of my album. It was also for a color challenge on STS. The colors were orange, blue and green. I used all but the green.

Sketch by Jayne Jones - Digital Kit called Fyre and Iyce by Dream Big Designs

This is my sister's middle son, Brodie. He is so funny and all boy. This was for a Use it or Lose it challenge on STS. They give you a mini sample kit and you have to use all the pieces in the kit. I had finished all my sketches from the class, so I went over to Feeling Scrappy's blog site and looked for sketches there. I found a good one!

Sketch by Stacey Curry - Digital Kit called In My Little Boys Pocket by Mad Genius Designs

This last one is of a friend of mine. This was during a National Meeting with out company and they gave us a fun evening one night. Here she is being a true cowgirl!

End of class is upon me!

I really hate to see the see in the end of the Sketchapalooza class, but they say all good things must come to an end! I still have a few more sketches to do, but having to wait for the pictures I want to use.

Anyway, while I wait for pictures, I will share what I have done.

This is of my sister two oldest boys cutting up the tree that fell in Mom & Dad's yard earlier this year.
Sketch by Stacey Lokovic. The Digital Kit called Happy as a Lark by Scraps by Andrea.

Here is one I did of my two granddaughters. I bought them matching dresses and thought they looked so cute.Sketch by Stacey Curry, and theDigital Kit is called Dandelion Dream by Dream Big Design (the red is one I recolored)

This last one is a Speed Scrap challenge that I did on Stuff to Scrap. This was the first one I have ever done and it was fun. I hope to do more in the future. The give you instructions every 10 minutes for an hour, and everyone comes up with their own layout. It reminded me of the Mystery Challenge we used to do on ScrapShare. Anyway, here is my version. It's my hubby and the granddaughters.MommyScraps's Backyard kit was used for the paper; Scrappin' Kim's Country Road kit used for flowers and brads; the mask/cut photos was made by Mara Wegner.

Xandra

Xandra pulled a chair over by the sliding glass door and just sat there and looked out the window. She was awful quite, so I went looking for her. When I saw her by the door, I turned around and went and got my camera. Here is the layout I did.

The sketch is by Tracy Kosofsky and the Digital kit is called Bears eat Beets by Scraps by Ellay.
